Hagar Planning on Tackling USCS Speedweek Races in Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (May 30, 2018) – Derek Hagar is hopeful for dry weather this weekend when he will tackle the final three USCS Series Speedweek shows.

Hagar had planned on competing at all but the first Speedweek race, but rain wiped out most of last weekend. Hagar skipped the lone Speedweek race that was contested because of a long haul and a high percentage of predicted rain.

“It’s about a four-and-a-half-hour ride and it was 60 to 80 percent chance of rain,” he said. “We had to make a business decision. We gambled and lost.”

This weekend’s Speedweek races are Thursday at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala.; Friday at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss.; and Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.

“The final two look solid weather-wise, but Talladega is up in the air,” he said. “We’ve won at all three tracks so hopefully Mother Nature gives us the opportunity to race and we can contend for some wins.”

Hagar has a four-year winning streak at Riverside International Speedway and he has won two of the last three years at Talladega Short Track and Magnolia Motor Speedway.
