Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series Visits North AL, Duck River & Talladega

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (August 9, 2022)—The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series returns to action this weekend with a triple-header of action at North Alabama Speedway, Duck River Raceway Park and Talladega Short Track August 11-12 and 13.

Thursday August 11 the tour will visit North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Ala. racing 40 laps for $5,000-to-win. This will be the first time Super Late Models have races at North Alabama since 2017. Along with the Super Late Models at North Alabama, the CRUSA 602 Late Models, CRUSA Open Wheel Modifieds, and Factory Stocks will also be on tap for the evening. Pits open at 3:00 pm and Drivers Meeting is slated for 7:00 pm. Hot Laps to follow. All times central.

On Friday August 12, the series will visit Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, Tenn. for a 40-lap $5,000-to-win event. In addition to the Super Late Models, the CRUSA Street Stocks, Mini Cup, Pure Pony, and Modified Street divisions will all be on tap for the event. Pits open at 3:00 pm and Drivers Meeting is slated for 6:00 pm. Hot Laps to follow. All times central.

On Saturday August 13, the tour will visit Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala. for the 50-lap Annual Governor’s Cup paying $10,000-to-win. Other divisions competing will be the CRUSA Dirt Late Models, CRUSA 602 Late Model Sportsman, CRUSA Open Wheel Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Hot Shots. Pits open at 4:00 pm and Drivers Meeting is slated for 6:30 pm. Hot Laps to follow at 7:00 pm. All times central.

Each night the entry fee is $100.00. Any car not making the field of 22 on Thursday and Friday is $50.00. Any car not making the field of 22 on Saturday at Talladega is $75.00. The tire rule for Duck River will be: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 anywhere along with the American Racer 48 & 56 anywhere. Saturday’s tire rule for Talladega will be the Hoosier only 1350 and 1600 anywhere on the car. A reminder there are no 29.0’s allowed on the left rear and the national droop rule will be used all three nights. A point fund for all three nights is as follows: 1st $500, 2nd $400, 3rd $300, 4th $200 and 5th $200. The point fund is if all three races are completed.
